Jessica Raphael - Yoga and Mindfulness
2020 bookings being taken for Monday morning, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings
"I began practicing Yoga at university; I was astounded to discover, right from the beginning, that such a simple practice as moving the body slowly and focusing on the breath could create a feeling of stillness and detachment from all the stresses of life. It was clear to me, at the age of eighteen, that Yoga is a transformative and powerful practice."
Jessica trained twelve years ago as a Hatha Yoga teacher and has successfully taught in Sweden as well as in the Home Counties. She believes in a gentle, mindful and mediative approach to listening to your body and mind as you become stronger, more flexible and calmer through yoga practice. Jessica also has much experience teaching children, pregnant women and babies. She has run a variety of courses as well as workshops and masterclasses; Yoga for a Strong Core, Birth Preparation Workshop and Yoga and Mindfulness, to name a few. Jessica is qualified with the British School of Yoga and has specialist Pregnancy and Post Natal qualification with The British Wheel of Yoga as well as a wealth of professional development courses.
"Having taught English in schools for many years, I trained as a yoga teacher when I had my first child. I began to realise school children would benefit from yoga; the two parts of my life were married together as I began to research what has been called a 'crisis in childhood stress'. There is a place for Yoga in your life whatever your age if you are open to it."
Jessica is the mother of 4 boys and teaches 'The Yoga and Mindful approach to bringing up children in a stressful world', in schools, both to children and teachers.
